Shout About Your Business with an Amazing Website

As business owners we know that to get customers and sales we have to get ourselves out there and shout about our business. When I say “shout”, that’s not how we tend to do it. In fact, if I’m honest, we aren’t that good at shouting about what we do. This might be because we are modest, although, I know for a fact that what we do is amazing (because people have told us), so it probably isn’t modesty. A lot of it is probably down to the fact that we aren’t social media lovers, which is where most people shout about their bsuinesses and so spending lots of time on there talking about what we do doesn’t feel natural. It might also be because we are tired of people telling us that they can get the same thing from somewhere else a lot cheaper. The answer to that is “no you can’t”. You can get websites and membership sites from other places cheaper but they are not the same as ours. The designs aren’t the same, the tutorials aren’t the same, the support isn’t the same, the experience of the team delivering the service isn’t the same and the quality of all of the above isn’t the same. If you are happy with what you got for less money then great, we are happy for you, but what you got isn’t “the same” as what we offer. Anyway, now that I have got that off my chest I can move on!

So, you don’t have to shout about what you do as a business owner but you do need to get your message out there clearly and consistently. The one thing which makes that a lot easier is having a fabulous website. If you have a really stunning, well functioning website that truly reflects what you offer and how brilliantly you offer it then you don’t have to be one of those people who likes talking about themselves. You can just link to it on social media, you can have it on your business card that you hand to someone at a networking event. You can put it on leaflets or ask your friends to share it on their social media. It shouts for you, but only if it’s good.

Your Online Sales Person

We recently went to a networking event and chatted to a few people, learnt some good tips from the talks and made some good connections. A couple of days later I followed up with those connections by email but before doing that I checked out their websites. Some were beautiful and gave a really brilliant impression, some were OK and gave a good enough impression, some were not great and all they shouted was that they were cheap and some people didn’t have a website at all. Now different people have different views on websites but Ian Dickson, who I saw talk recently, described a website as being your sales person who is out there representing you. I wouldn’t want my sales person to come across as cheap. I wouldn’t really want them to just be OK and I certainly don’t want them to be non-existent. So, when it comes to shouting about how great you are, get your website to do it for you but make sure it is doing it well!

Website Review

If you’re not sure which category your website comes into, whether it’s a brilliant sales person or not, why not spend just a little and let us carry out a website review. It’s only £99 and this is what you get:

  • A video walkthrough of our review of your website
  • Action points to target your audience
  • Action points to increase conversions
  • Tips to improve your design
  • Tips to improve web and mobile performance

Make sure your website is representing you in the best way that it can!

Thank you Jude! I totally, 100% agree with you about the quality of your website reflecting what you do. And I am right behind you with standing firm about people thinking they can get the same elsewhere, cheaper! Your service is outstanding and it’s worth every penny. Trust me, I’ve done the legwork and found out how poor and unprofessional other branding/website ‘design and build’ services can be, even if they shout loudly about how great they are AND still charge a fair whack for it.

Thanks Sophie! It’s frustrating there are so many poor website services out there but I expect it’s the same in lots of areas of business. We just have to hope that people ask around, do their research and choose a good one but it’s hard to spot which ones aren’t great sometimes!
