The problem with brand design
We've noticed a big increase in people using branding services on sites like Fiverr, People per hour and Upwork and paying rock bottom prices or trying to do it themselves on Canva. The problem is, they're getting rock bottom results or a brand that isn't really a brand.
We're sure there are good designers on those sites, but finding a great one is difficult. Common issues are:
- A lack of the understanding of your business leading to a generic looking logo with no story.
- Stock logos being re-used, lots of "designers" are just using stock libraries or old client logos that didn't make it.
- Logos created that do not have a single colour option (which means it cannot be printed in black and white).
- Logos that are based on pixels so they cannot be scaled.
- A colour palette that does not work on screen / print with no content colours or subtle colours for web and print usage.
- Fonts recommended that you have to purchase separate licenses for without you being informed of that fact.
- No thought has gone into the future proofing of the brand in terms of logo versatility.
- Final brand assets are unusable. For example the logo is provided as a jpeg with white background, no vector files are sent which means you cannot use the logo for print, banners, large format application.
- No CMYK (print colours) provided so you're unable to replicate your brand colours in print.
- The list goes on and on and on...

Here's how our branding process works
This is for the typical branding package, timelines are for guidance only as it depends on what you need and how many iterations we need to go through to get things right for you.
Getting started
As soon as you pay we send you our Branding Questionnaire. This takes you through all of basic information that we need to start thinking about your brand.
Kick-off Call
When we receive your questionnaire, we will get in touch with you within the next 48 hours (Mon to Fri) to arrange your kick-off call over Zoom. The onboarding call lasts around 30-60 minutes and we'll dive deeper than the questionnaire to make sure we understand you, your business and your future plans as well as giving you a rough timescale of when we can start on our ideas.
The Branding starts
Now we have everything we need, we'll get our creative juices flowing and begin sketching out concepts by hand initially to get a solid logo and brand concept working in a single colour. We'll be in touch as soon as we have something we're happy with.
Typical timelines: 1 week for initial concept to be sent over to you.
Version Reviews
We'll present the initial logo in a draft document via email, complete with "Chris notes" and how we see the logo working in single colour and in full colour along with an initial colour palette suggestion. You'll be able to book in for your first of two Iteration Review calls. On this call we'll discuss your thoughts. If you're happy with everything at this stage, we add our final polish to the logo and create all of your branding assets and brand guidelines.
If you want us to work on another version, we will repeat this process.

Your Branding is Ready!
After sign off from the iteration phase, we're all good to go. We'll then get everything finalised and send your brand guidelines and all the brand assets you requested as part of your package.
