Jane Pangbourne relaxed and smiling and not worrying about her website

Finally, I can do what I do best! (And stop worrying about my website.)

Guest post by Jane Pangbourne, Founder of Menopausal Not Mad®

I hate websites! There, I’ve said it and I am not taking it back!

I will clarify my statement for you though as there is a positive story to tell too.

I have been an entrepreneur for around 30 years and believe me I have had my share of websites. My husband developed my first website around 16 years ago I think, and it was pretty good for what I needed at the time.

At some stage a year or so later, when I was asking him to add yet another element to the site, he said, “I think you have outgrown my website development skills now. You need an expert!”

And so, it began. My seemingly never-ending search for the right website designer to both guide me and develop the site I needed in order to grow my businesses. This was made more challenging as my needs for the site changed quite regularly and of course you don’t know what you don’t know, so asking for what I needed was difficult to put into words.

I have a very busy, neurodivergent brain so it leaps around all over the place and my ideas are not always in a logical order but, even though I quite like it that way, it isn’t ideal for strategy and order in business.

I am actually very good at managing other people’s business needs as I know what to do and have run and supported many businesses, but my own business is another story altogether.

I am so passionate about my work that I often lose the ability to see the bigger picture.

I have worked with around 10 or more website designers over the years and although some did a pretty good job, none of them had the wherewithal to adapt to, and really impact my business, resulting in a lot of Groundhog Day moments and frustration on my part.

I hate having to develop the format of a website!

I hate having to think what to put on a website!

and

I REALLY hate being left with no ongoing support to access when I need it!

So, onto Ready Steady Websites®…

I worked briefly with Chris of Ready Steady Websites® (RSW) many years ago, when RSW was I expect still just a twinkle in Chris’s eye.

We had got on well, so I have casually followed his and his wife Jude’s business as I grew my own service at Menopausal Not Mad®.

In that time, I have worked with at least 3 more website providers but for some reason hadn’t thought of working with RSW (no I don’t know why either!)

Anyhoo – as my book was due to be launched this year, I was told by my publisher that I needed to get my ducks in a row from a website perspective and as I also had cause to change my VIP membership platform provider, I dropped Chris a message, more out of panic than a planned approach!

This was less that 6 months ago and I cannot speak highly enough of the speed with which Chris anticipated my business needs, actioned my very short notice requests to get the new site up and running, with a variety of links and pages in time for my book launch 3 weeks later! No pressure then.

Since then, we have pulled together the VIP Membership site and more is still being added all the time but importantly RSW has offered what I have needed for many years:

  1. Speedy (and effective) responses to my queries
  2. An individualised approach to my quirky working style
  3. A quality product that even I can use!

The investment has been worth the lack of brain ache and stress for me and has allowed me to do what I do best; provide menopause and female health guidance for my community whilst not losing my time and mind with website tech!

Thanks Chris and Jude.
You’re fab x
