Two people working together at a desk getting support in their business

Having the Right Support in Your Business (Especially with Your Marketing and Website)

Even if you have identified everything you know you need to do in your business to make it successful, you’ve completed courses and attended training sessions to make sure you understand all those things and you’ve planned time in your diary to take all the right actions, often things still don’t work out as you hoped because you don’t have the right support in your business.

You can’t be an expert in everything. And even if you somehow you are, you’re only one person and you don’t have enough time to do everything well. So you need the right support.

How to Identify the Support You Need in Your Business

The best way to identify where you need support in your business is to look at which bits of your business aren’t working as well. Often we hear people telling us that they have a website but it’s not doing anything for them or they’re sending out marketing materials and nobody is responding to them. The reason for this is because they haven’t been done well. The design on both is awful. The copy isn’t inspiring. Half the links on the website are broken and guess what, the marketing materials are sending people to the rubbish website – double fail!

For obvious reasons I’m using websites as an example. It’s not only websites where people need support but it is often in the area of marketing. For example people create promotional videos where you can barely see or hear them because they’ve got the sound and the lighting all wrong. Or they try to create their brand themselves and pick a pretty font nobody can read and create a logo that doesn’t work in most formats. (Check out our Brand Checklist if you think you may have made some logo mistakes.)

Why Resist Getting the Right Support in Your Business?

More often than not, the resistance to getting the right support in business tends to come down to money. Either people feel they don’t have the budget to get much support or they are spending the money on the wrong things. Buying yet another course, if you’re really honest with yourself probably isn’t going to help. Buying the newest piece of tech that promises to make things easier when you haven’t mastered the last one again probably isn’t a great investment.

Investing in the people who really know what they’re doing, will take away the stress and will give you back your time to do the things you are actually good at, that is a good investment.

So, when it come to your website, invest in a service that comes with consistent, ongoing support from real people. When it comes to your branding, find a brand designer with experience and talent. When it comes to creating printed marketing materials, work with a print designer. When it comes to creating great marketing videos or show reels, work with experts. If you would like intros to people who do all of these, just get in touch. We have a fab network of people who could help
