Jude and Chris Wharton

Have You Met Chris and Jude?

Some of you may know us fairly well, some of you are maybe new to our world and haven’t met us at all. Whichever camp you fall into or if you’re in the middle, this is your chance to get to know us, Chris and Jude, a bit better.

Meet Chris

Job title:

Co-Founder of Ready Steady Websites®

Day to day work tasks:

Coming up with ideas for new functionality on our templates and designing and developing this. Answering support tickets and any questions our members have in the Facebook Group. One to one Zoom calls with members to help them with website or membership site strategy or ideas. Creating sites for members who have gone for the Do It For You option. Checking sites over and putting them live (I really like this bit!). Designing and building new templates. Running challenges. Weekly Facebook and Instagram lives giving useful website and membership site related tips. Giving prospective members demos of Ready Steady Websites®. Guest speaking slots and nurturing relationships with collaborators. I also make quite a lot of tea and coffee.

What do you do outside of work time?

I spend time with Jude and the boys. Take the camper van out for day trips and soon we will be actually camping again! I watch quite a lot of my son’s under 10s football and now they’re at this age it’s actually a good game to watch! I also like to keep myself fit with Hiit workouts, running and I may join a gym again soon too now life is getting back to normal. I spend most evenings chilling out in front of the TV watching something funny or high action.

Favourite actor:

Hugh Jackman – he’s in loads of good films.

Favourite time of the year:

Autumn

Best thing about your job:

Working with Jude and being able to help so many people is a very nice feeling.

Worst thing about your job:

Working with Jude 🙂 and the constant feeling of needing to over deliver for people, which is mainly self-inflicted.

Tell us a fun fact about Jude:

She has performed on a West End Stage.

Job title:

Co-Founder of Ready Steady Websites®

Day to day work tasks:

Writing the weekly blog posts, the weekly email and keeping on top of all of our social media. Creating and running our challenges. Providing accountability in our members group. Identifying other opportunities to spread the word about what we do and creating collaborations. Networking. Guest speaking slots. Calls with potential members to see if we are a good fit. Weekly Facebook and Instagram lives. Business tasks such as bookkeeping, planning, goal setting and reviewing. Chief lunch maker and I make some tea and coffee too but Chris is more on top of that!

What do you do outside of work time?

I start the day with yoga and also enjoy walking and Hiit workouts. I can’t wait to get back to swimming which I used to do twice a week before lockdown. Like Chris I really enjoy family time and going out in the camper and I also take in quite a few under 10s football games. I love watching them play but I also enjoy the social side of this. I enjoy meeting friends for a walk or a cuppa and it’ll be so nice when that’s easier to organise!

Favourite actor:

Paul Giamatti

Favourite time of year:

Christmas

Best thing about your job:

Seeing people achieve things because of our help and the freedom that comes from running our own business. After what Chris said I should probably say, working with Chris is up there too!

Worst thing about your job:

Dealing with rude or ungrateful people. Fortunately, it happens incredibly rarely. And working with Chris (he’s so rude saying this about me so I had to add it in!).

Tell us a fun fact about Chris:

He once sang “There’s a Hole in My Bucket” in front of his whole Junior school and was then recognised for it by someone at college ten years later.
