Connector for Chrome Privacy Policy
1. Overview
Connector for Chrome is a Google Chrome browser extension published by Ready Steady Websites®. It connects your Connector CRM account to your email clients by detecting the sender's email address from an open email and displaying the matching contact record in a side panel.
This policy explains what data the extension handles, how it is used, who it is shared with, and how it is protected.
2. Data we collect and why
The extension handles the following data during normal operation:
Connector API Key — stored locally in Chrome extension storage on your device. Used to authenticate requests to the Connector CRM API on your behalf. Transmitted to the Connector API over HTTPS only.
Connector Location ID — stored locally in Chrome extension storage on your device. Used to identify your CRM account when making API requests. Transmitted to the Connector API over HTTPS only.
Sender email address — read from the currently open email in your browser. Used solely to look up a matching contact record in your CRM. Held in memory only and never written to disk or stored by us.
CRM contact data — returned from the Connector API and displayed in the side panel. Not stored locally by the extension beyond the active session.
Task content (title, description, due date, assignee) — entered by you when creating a CRM task. Transmitted to the Connector API to create the task. Not retained by the extension.
The extension does not read or transmit the full body or content of any email, any email attachments, your email login credentials, your browsing history, or any data unrelated to CRM contact lookup and task creation.
3. How data is stored
Your API Key and Location ID are stored using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync API on your own device. If you have Chrome profile sync enabled, Google may sync this data across your signed-in devices. Ready Steady Websites® does not have access to this data.
All other data is held in the extension's active memory only and is discarded when the side panel is closed. Nothing beyond your API Key and Location ID is ever written to disk by the extension.
4. Who data is shared with
Data is transmitted only to the Connector CRM API (operated by HighLevel Inc.) via HTTPS. No data is sent to Ready Steady Websites® servers at any time. We do not share data with advertisers, analytics providers, or any other third parties.
Your use of the Connector platform is subject to HighLevel Inc.'s own Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
5. Limited Use
Our use of data obtained through the extension is limited to providing and improving the Connector for Chrome extension. We do not use this data for serving advertisements, for unauthorised data collection or sale, or for any purpose not disclosed in this policy. Our data practices comply with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
6. Data retention
Your API Key and Location ID remain in Chrome extension storage until you clear them via the extension's Settings screen, uninstall the extension, or clear Chrome's extension data. Ready Steady Websites® does not hold copies of any data.
7. Your rights
Under applicable data protection law (including UK GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data held about you. As the extension does not transmit personal data to Ready Steady Websites® servers, the relevant data controllers for CRM contact records are your own organisation and HighLevel Inc.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
